ApplicationsBetween the hundreds of waste streams submitted by prospects over the years, experimentation on our own in-house waste streams, and dozens of successful installations, we have a pretty good idea of what is treatable by Electrocoagulation technology and what isn't. We have also done joint research with, and supported the research of, Texas A&M University, University of Texas and Lamar University. We know that electrocoagulation is amazing in the removal of a wide variety of contaminants, but there are waste streams that are not appreciably treated. Here is a brief description of what it effectively treats, marginally treats, and poorly treats. Call us. Let's figure out where you stand. "Slam Dunk" Wastes. No-Brainers.
Standard Industrial Waste WatersIf you have a waste that is not a slam dunk as listed above, we can probably still treat it, but we may need to make some consideration like raise the pH a touch, or maybe even run it through twice. Many times all it takes is some pH adjustment, or killing the cyanide in advance of the system. Many installations have some pre-treatment adjustment - it is not a big deal. We may be able to treat in one pass, or you may need a batch-type system. Call us. And check out the evaluation reports in our series of papers called For Example... in our Library. Mixed electroplating wastes. Electroplating is one of our top markets, but because there is so much variation in how plants are operated, the makeup of process baths, and so on, we really need to verify the treatability of your waste and make any recommendations if any adjustments are needed. Sometimes our recommendations save prospective customers a lot of money. On occasion we have caused a customer to alter their waste management to such a degree that we saved them thousands of dollars per month in process make up and then again in treatment costs. Electroplating is where we recommend a bench-scale evaluation be conducted. Then we can tell you with confidence what needs to be done. Confined animal wash water waste streams can vary, also. The handling of solids prior to the water being introduced to the KASELCO EC makes a big difference. Again, evaluation of your proposed waste stream is best. Tougher StuffElectrochemistry cannot cure all evils. If the primary target is these pollutants, you may be better off with some other system or some combination of KASELCO EC and something else. If the primary target is some other pollutant and these are in the water to some degree, then we should talk. Call us.
